What carpet do Rolleston homes usually have?
Most newer Rolleston homes have synthetic carpet, often a soft cut pile in light neutral shades. It's hard-wearing, but light colours show traffic lanes in hallways and living areas sooner than people expect.
Synthetic carpet responds well to hot water extraction. I pre-spray the soiled areas, rinse and extract with hot water, and groom the pile where needed. Heavy lanes get extra agitation first. If you have wool carpet or wool rugs, mention it when you ask for a quote, as I treat wool differently (see wool carpet cleaning).
When should a new build get its first clean?
There's no fixed rule. A good time is when you notice greying in the hallway or in front of the couch, or when spills and muddy shoes start to add up. Cleaning before soil gets ground in is easier on the fibres than waiting until it's very dirty.
Some carpet warranties mention professional cleaning, so it's worth checking the paperwork from your builder or carpet supplier and keeping your invoice.
Spills, kids and pets

Access and parking
My hoses run from the van and reach roughly 45 metres. Most Rolleston sections have a driveway close to the front door, which keeps things simple. Please leave a park near the entrance and make sure there's an outside tap I can use. If your street gets busy with parked cars, let me know and we'll sort out where the van goes.

How long will my carpet take to dry in a newer Rolleston home?
Drying depends on ventilation, the weather, the carpet fibre and how soiled it was. Newer homes are well insulated, so opening windows or running a heat pump or fan helps. I'll give you guidance on the day, and my carpet drying guide has more tips.

Will cleaning bring light carpet back to its original colour?
Hot water extraction removes the soil that makes light carpet look grey, and that usually makes a clear difference. It won't change the dye, and worn or crushed areas may still look different from the carpet that was under furniture.
Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?
Please clear toys, small items and anything fragile from the floor. Tell me about large furniture when you ask for a quote and we'll plan around it. After cleaning I put protective film under furniture legs.
